Diara Anderson

Dr. Diara Anderson is a licensed clinical psychologist, holding a doctorate from Capella University, with an extensive educational background spanning from Argosy University to John Jay College of Criminal Justice in Manhattan, NY.

With over 15 years of therapy experience, Dr. Anderson's approach is a blend of person-centered therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR).

She started her professional journey in an adult inpatient psychiatric unit, where she provided individual therapy and led transformative group sessions on topics including anger management, depression, anxiety, and substance abuse, among others.

Transitioning to working with children, Dr. Anderson's passion led her to diverse settings, in homes to schools, and from inpatient psychiatric hospitals to outpatient clinics, addressing a spectrum of mental health challenges including grief, low self-esteem, emotional disturbance, oppositional defiance disorder, anxiety, and ADHD, among others.

Her expertise extends to working with adults, fostering healing and growth in individuals navigating trauma, relational distress, grief/loss, depression, anxiety, bipolar, dissociative disorders, and personality disorders, and various mental health concerns.

Utilizing EMDR, Dr. Anderson has been instrumental in guiding clients through the complexities of trauma, including physical, emotional ,sexual, and other traumatic events, towards profound healing.

Dr. Anderson's mission is to nurture emotional well-being and empower individuals to lead fulfilling lives. Outside of her practice, she finds joy in exploring different cultures through travel and cherishes moments with family, often indulging in outdoor adventures or exploring new culinary experiences.
